One Night in Beijing

It’s almost time for ARCC’s biggest event of the year: One Night in Beijing! ONiB is a cultural show held every April that showcases the many talents of your fellow classmates. Watch graceful dances, listen to beautiful singing, and follow the story of The Last Scholar. This year’s show will take place on Saturday, April 24 at 7:30pm in UC Rangos. Tickets will be available for purchase closer to the show date; the prices will be:

Presale (UC info desk or tables): $6

At the door the day of: $8

Night Market

ARCC presents our annual Night Market! Come experience an awesome event in the style of Asian night markets, where 13 different CMU organizations will be selling unique dishes varying from pork buns to red bean smoothies, and also providing free games and karaoke. Join us at this Late Night event on Friday, March 26 from 9:00pm-12:00am at the UC Black Chairs!
Movie Night: Bodyguards and Assassins

Come for movie night with ARCC! ARCC will be showing Bodyguards and Assassins on Friday, March 19th from 6:00pm-8:30pm in PH100, accompanied by free pizza and your lovely board members, of course! The movie will be in Chinese, but we will have English subtitles.

Bodyguards and Assassins features an all-star cast including Donnie Yen (甄子丹), Tony Leung Ka Fai (梁家輝), Leon Lai (黎明), Jacky Cheung (張學友), Hu Jun (胡軍), and Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒).

Before Dr. Sun Yat-Sen can become the Father of Modern China by instigating the revolution of 1911 that overturns the Qing Dynasty, his life is almost cut short when he arrives at Hong Kong for a secret meeting to establish a united anti-Qing revolutionary front. In the distance of thirteen blocks, the one man Dr. Sun Yat-Sen who holds a nation’s fate must survive relentless attempts on his life with only five bodyguards, a group of ordinary men and women who actually possess extraordinary fighting skills. Against hundreds of assassins, these men must put their courage to the test in order to protect the hope of millions even if it means fighting to the death…

Hot Pot!

Want a great way to warm up from the wintry chills? Come to ARCC’s annual Hot Pot night! We provide the food, you cook and flavor to your taste! Hot Pot night is Friday, January 22nd at 6:00pm in UC Connan. Seats are limited, though, so make sure you come by our table in the UC to buy tickets and dumplings Tuesday-Thursday, January 19th-21st! Tickets are $7 presale, $10 at the door.
Chinese New Year Dinner!

Join ARCC for a home-cooked Chinese New Year dinner! ARCC board members will be slaving away to bring you many delicious dishes and entertaining performances to celebrate the new year. The dinner will take place on Saturday, February 20th at 5:30pm-7:30pm in UC Rangos 1. Tickets are on sale now, at our table in the UC or at the info desk! They are $8 presale and $12 at the door. Here are the dishes:

ARCC will be having many fun events this semester. Stay tuned for more details coming soon! In the meantime, make sure you leave Saturday, April 24th at 7:00pm free on your calendars for dancing, singing, and modeling at One Night in Beijing!

Jane Lui Concert

ARCC and Kappa Phi Lambda bring to you the Youtube phenomenon, Jane Lui. Come join us in an amazing performance by the musical talent right here at CMU! Jane Lui is a soulful artist who combines her musical talents with her culture in producing a unique style of music. She has performed in numerous opening acts for artists like Jason Mraz, Jay Nash, Kate Earl, and many more. There will also be a Q&A session as well as a discussion about immigration and cultural backgrounds. Check her out at her Youtube page! The free concert will be on Wednesday, November 18th at 7:00pm in UC McConomy.
